Insulation Levels

THE BEST TIME TO INSULATE YOUR POLE BUILDING IS AT THE TIME OF CONSTRUCTION

We want to help guide you in what decision makes the most sense for you to not only meet your budget but also to address any future plans you might have for your building.

The insulation materials we use are measured by “R-value”. This “rating” is the measurement of the thermal resistance to conductive heat flow — the higher the R-value, the greater the insulating effectiveness. Conduction is the way heat moves through materials, such as when a spoon placed in a hot cup of coffee conducts heat through its handle to your hand.

LEVEL 1 INSULATION

rFOIL® Radiant Moisture Barrier Insulation

The Minimum Insulation Needed for Your Pole Building, rFOIL® Reflective Insulation is an effective energy barrier that can greatly reduce the transfer of radiant heat through siding and roofing. This double layer of polyethylene bubbles (double bubble) is bonded to and sandwiched between a radiant barrier metalized foil and a white polyethylene sheet. It can be stapled to purlins, rafters, and studs, or rolled out onto existing shingles prior to the installation of metal roofing or siding panels.

At a minimum, rFoil should be installed under the roof steel to protect against condensation and sweating. It can also be added under the side steel for a full building wrap.

Sol-R-Eclipse Commercial Grade Reflective Insulation

Eliminating temperature spikes, up or down, and keeping temperatures at a more moderate level, Sol-R-Eclipse is a patent-pending reflective insulation that delivers the highest R-Value available from a reflective insulation on the market today using the latest ATSM testing.

A market leader in innovation and technology, Sol-R-Eclipse cuts the cold of winter and the heat of summer.

Because of its low profile, Sol-R-Eclipse can be installed directly under the metal roofing and siding. This is the ideal solution if there are no plans to fully finish the interior of your pole building but want to have better control of inside temperatures.

LEVEL 3 INSULATION

Fiberglass Batt & Blown Insulation

A popular form of insulation is “Batt and Roll” insulation. It is typically stored in rolls and generally made of fiberglass. This option is ideal if you plan on finishing the exterior walls of your pole building, whether it is with Liner Panel or Drywall.

“Blown-in” insulation refers to blowing or spraying insulation product into wall cavities, attics, and floors. A very common application is when installing a ceiling in your pole building. This insulation would be “blown” into the areas between the roof trusses, above the ceiling.

Blown insulation generally requires additional framing and a greater investment than our other insulation offerings.
