Adding Overhangs to your new building is the single best way to dress it up and they’re functional too. We offer several different styles to help you achieve the look you’re after whether it’s a basic shed, a nice garage, or a classic stall barn. Overhangs also allow an attic space to vent properly if you decide to install a ceiling now or in the future. Another reason for having an overhang, at least on the eave sides of the building, is that gutters are attached to the fascia board. Having no overhang makes it very difficult to install gutters. The most common length of roof overhang on pole buildings is 12” but 18″ and 24″ are also options. The length of the overhang is something that will be determined by the overall size of your building.
We at Delmarva Buildings feel very strongly that every pole building should have overhangs. The main reason that most, if not all folks choose not to have overhangs on their buildings is cost. The cost is minimal compared to the advantages of having it. We feel so strongly about it that we would rather do without entry doors, than without overhangs. On a pole building, a door can be added later but an overhang cannot be added after the building is finished.
